TOOLS REQUIRED:
1. Cordless drill 2. Stud Finder 3. Step Ladder 4. Tape measure 5. #2 Drill Bit 6. Pencil.
TIPS:
- Ensure you have a clean work area to start
- A second person is helpful when installing S-Fold Curtains
- Take note of the window locations as stated on the outer packaging sticker label
- Be very careful not to cut the fabric with a sharp object when removing packaging
Step 1: Measure and Position the Track
- Determine where to install your curtain track. Identify the location where you originally measured for the curtain to go (e.g., centred or one-way).
- Lay the curtain track on the floor in front of the door or window in the position you intend to install it. Ensure there are no obstructions in the way before drilling any holes. Move any furniture or items that might interfere.
Step 2: Mark Bracket Placement
- Use a stud finder to locate solid fixing points on the wall. You will need one bracket at the far left, one at the far right, and one in the centre of the track. For extra support, space the remaining brackets evenly, making sure they are no more than 600mm apart. Make pencil marks where you’ll drill for the brackets, ensuring proper alignment. Drill holes and secure the brackets in place using screws. Double-check that the brackets are firmly attached.
Step 3: Attach the Track
- Pick up the curtain track and attach it to the brackets. Hook the track onto the front of each bracket, ensuring that it locks securely into place.
Step 4: Hang the Curtain
- Pick up your curtain and start from one side of the track. Hook the curtain hooks into the gliders on the track, working your way across. Once the curtain is hanging, create an "S" shape in the fabric:
- Push the fabric between the 2nd and 3rd gliders toward the back of the track.
- Repeat this step between the 4th and 5th gliders, then the 6th and 7th, and so on.
- After you finish, the ends of the curtain should point away from you and toward the wall, creating a smooth, pleated look.
Step 5: Install the Second Curtain (for Pairs)
- If you have a pair of curtains, repeat steps 1 and 2 for the second curtain, but start from the opposite end of the track.
- This ensures a consistent S-shape across both curtains.
Final Check:
- Ensure the curtains move smoothly along the track and adjust as necessary. Enjoy your newly hung curtains
